International Gemmological Institute (India) Limited (IGI), incorporated in February 1999, is a globally recognized organization specializing in certifying and grading diamonds, gemstones, and jewellery. Operating 31 laboratories and 18 gemology schools worldwide, including key markets such as Surat, Mumbai, Antwerp, New York, Bangkok, Dubai, Hong Kong, and Shanghai, IGI provides independent grading reports for natural and lab-grown diamonds, coloured stones, and finished jewellery, assessing attributes like cut, colour, clarity, carat weight, fluorescence, symmetry, craftsmanship, and overall value. The company also offers education programs in gemology, diamond grading, and jewellery design, supported by a dedicated research department. As of September 30, 2024, IGI’s Pre-Acquisition Group includes 20 laboratories and 9 schools, staffed by 843 employees, including 316 gemologists, ensuring internationally recognized standards and fostering industry expertise.
