Incorporated in 1974, Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited (CMPDI) is a subsidiary of Coal India Limited and serves as a key technical and consultancy organization for India’s coal sector. Headquartered in Ranchi, Jharkhand, CMPDI is a Schedule-B Public Sector Undertaking and was granted Mini Ratna Category I status in June 2019. The company provides comprehensive consultancy services including mineral exploration, mine planning, infrastructure design, environmental management, and system implementation mainly for coal and mineral industries.
