Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) is a premier defense shipbuilding company under the administrative control of India’s Ministry of Defence. Established in 1961, GSL is strategically located on the west coast of India and specializes in designing and constructing advanced warships and support vessels for the Indian Navy, Coast Guard, and foreign clients. With in-house design and R&D capabilities, GSL also builds commercial vessels and offers ship repair and engineering services. Backed by a robust order book of Rs 20,000 crore, the company is playing a vital role in India's naval modernization. GSL reported operational revenue of Rs 869 crore and PAT of Rs 150 crore in FY23, maintaining strong profitability and a debt-free balance sheet. It is currently available in the unlisted market and is considered undervalued compared to its listed peer, Cochin Shipyard.
